Wooden screens

Our new stock of wooden frames are made of 100% hardwood birch, made in the UK

Theses hardwood frames had been dipped in RONSEAL DECKING PROTECTOR (the ultimate waterproofing protection for quality timber: NEW FORMULA)

  • Wax enriched formula protects against wetting, drying, splitting and swelling.
  • Resists moisture penetration whilst allowing timber to breathe, resists mould and algal growth on he surface on the coating.

Finest quality birch hardwood construction
The only frame with no corner joints in the industry.

How much control you will have over the printing process. Screen Tension is the most crucial element that determines this.
Printing with high tension will result in better registration, faster printing speeds, less ink build up, and reduce operator fatigue. Insufficient tension can cause poor coverage by forcing the ink into the garment instead of laying on top.

To achieve the high tension levels required we stage Tension whichnis very time consuming because of the series of stretch and relaxation, which allows the fabric to stabilize without damaging the mesh characteristics. Low ilongation fabrics

Screen Tensions

We stretch our wood and aluminum frames at the following basic tensions:

  • 10T - 90T mesh - 27 newtons
  • 100T mesh - 24 newtons
  • 110T-140T mesh - 21 newtons

Stretching tension and printing tensions differ. The tension on your screen on the press will be the stretching tension, less the natural loss of tension due to frame bar give after stretching.

A 43t wooden screen stretched at 27 newtons, will read 23 newtons after it is cut and removed from the press.
A 43t Aluminium screen frame stretched at 27 newtons will read 25 newtons after it is cut from the press, becouse there is less give on the alluminium frame.
